ಲಾಕ್ ಡೌನ್ ಸಡಿಲಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಚೆನ್ನೈಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಲಿಕ್ಕರ್ ಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಚೆಕ್ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ತಪಾಸಣೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು ಮಹಾಬಲಿಪುರಂನಿಂದ ತವರಿಗೆ ತೆರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ರಮ್ಯಾಕೃಷ್ಣರ ಇನ್ನೋವಾ ಕಾರನ್ನು ಮುತ್ತುಕಾಡು ಚೆಕ್‍ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ತಡೆದು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದಾಗ 96 ಬಿಯರ್ ಬಾಟಲ್ ಹಾಗೂ 8 ಲಿಕ್ಕರ್ ಬಾಟಲಿಗಳನ್ನು ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಕಾರಿನ ಚಾಲಕ ಸೆಲ್ವಕುಮಾರ್‍ನನ್ನು ಕಾನತ್ತೂರು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಬಂದಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಕಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಮ್ಯಾಕೃಷ್ಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ತಂಗಿ ವಿನಯಕೃಷ್ಣರವರು ಇದ್ದರೆಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ, ಚಾಲಕ ಸೆಲ್ವಕುಮಾರ್‍ನನ್ನು ರಮ್ಯಾಕೃಷ್ಣರೇ ಜಾಮೀನಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂದಿದೆ.
