ನವದೆಹಲಿ: ದೇಶಾದ್ಯಂತ ಕಿಲ್ಲರ್ ಕೊರೊನಾ ವೈರಸ್ ಹಾವಳಿ ಆತಂಕಕಾರಿ ಮಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಲ್ಬಣಗೊಂಡು ಸಾವು ಮತ್ತು ಸೋಂಕು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ 12ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮರುಭೂಮಿ ಮಿಡತೆ ಹಾವಳಿ ತೀವ್ರಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದು, ಈವರೆಗೆ ಕೋಟ್ಯಂತರ ರೂ. ಬೆಳೆ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿದೆ.

ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಧ್ಯಪ್ರದೇಶದ 10 ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾವಳಿ ಮಾಡಿ ರೈತರ ಬೆಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕಬಳಿಸಿ ಗಿಡ-ಮರಗಳ ಹಸಿರೆಲೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಫಲಪುಷ್ಪಗಳನ್ನು ಬರಿದು ಮಾಡಿದ ಮಿಡತೆಗಳು ನಂತರ ಉತ್ತರ ಪ್ರದೇಶ, ಪಂಜಾಬ್, ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ಮೊದಲಾದ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಹಾನಿ ಮಾಡಿವೆ.

ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅನೇಕ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಮಿಡತೆ ಹಾವಳಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಗಂಭೀರವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿರುವ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಕೃಷಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಬೆಳೆ ಭಕ್ಷಕ ಕೀಟಗಳ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ.

ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಮಿಡತೆ ಹಾವಳಿ ಪೀಡಿತ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಬಲ ಕೀಟನಾಶಕಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿಂಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆಯಾದರೂ ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಡೆಸರ್ಟ್ ಲುಕೋಸ್ಟ್ (ಮರುಭೂಮಿ ಮಿಡತೆ ಅಥವಾ ಪಾಕ್ ಮಿಡತೆ) ನಿಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು ಕಷ್ಟಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
