ವೆಲ್ಲೂರು : ದಿವಂಗತ ಪ್ರಧಾನಿ ರಾಜೀವ್ ಗಾಂಧಿ ಅವರ ಹತ್ಯೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಆರೋಪಿ ನಳಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀಹರನ್ ಸೋಮವಾರ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಗೆ ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಅವರ ವಕೀಲರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ನಳಿನಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ವೆಲ್ಲೂರು ಮಹಿಳಾ ಜೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಕಳೆದ 29 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಜೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆಕೆಯ ವಕೀಲ ಪುಗಲೆಂತಿ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಅವಳು ಈಗ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಗೆ ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾಳೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದ ಪುಗಲೆಂತಿ ಅವರು ಕಳೆದ 29 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ನಳಿನಿ ಶ್ರೀಹರನ್ ಇಂತಹ ತೀವ್ರ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆ ಇಡಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ನಳಿನಿ ಮತ್ತು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬ ಅಪರಾಧಿ ನಡುವೆ ಜಗಳವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇತರ ಕೈದಿ ಈ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಜೈಲರ್‌ಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದಾಗ ನಳಿನಿ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಗೆ ಯತ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ವಕೀಲರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ಈ ಮೊದಲು ನಳಿನಿ ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಏನನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ “ನಾವು ನಿಜವಾದ ಕಾರಣವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಬಯಸುತ್ತೇವೆ” ಎಂದು ಪುಗಲೆಂತಿ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದರು.

ರಾಜೀವ್ ಗಾಂಧಿಯವರ ಹತ್ಯೆಗಾಗಿ ಜೈಲಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನಳಿನಿ ಅವರ ಪತಿ ಮುರುಗನ್ ಅವರು ವಕೀಲರಿಗೆ ಜೈಲು ಕರೆಯ ಮೂಲಕ ನಳಿನಿಯನ್ನು ವೆಲ್ಲೂರು ಜೈಲಿನಿಂದ ಪುಲಝಲ್ ಜೈಲಿಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸುವಂತೆ ಕೋರಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂದು ಪುಗಲೆಂತಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಾನೂನು ವಿನಂತಿಯನ್ನು ಶೀಘ್ರದಲ್ಲೇ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ವಕೀಲರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
